《Crysis Warhead》是《Crysis》的姐妹作，以赛可军士（Sykes，代号Psycho）的视角讲述发生在岛另一边的事——原作主角诺曼（Nomad）当时正在这边与敌人周旋。
Crytek表示将为赛可军士配备更强大的纳米服以驾驭更高级别的载具和枪械，此外多人联机部分也有强化：
“我们很高兴向大家宣布Warhead，在该作中我们将特别注重叙事能力和游戏执行效率，当然也会为大家呈现更精彩绝伦的画面和投入感，每个热爱Crysis的玩家都能体会到无拘无束的游戏体验”，公司首席执行官Cevat Yerli称。
该作由公司新近成立的Budapest工作室研发，使用增强型CryENGINE 2引擎，发行商仍为EA：
“Crysis是一部令人啧啧称奇的大作，今年能与Crytek再度携手推出《Crysis Warhead》，没有比这更让人高兴的事了”，EA副总兼全球业务总经理David DeMartini表示说。
同时，Crytek Studios对续作进行了已知部分的改进:
#对于游戏Artificial Intelligence的改进，队友与敌人将完全的融入地表作战环境与气候系统，智能的AI控制器会随着剧情的发展，合理的进行寻路，掩护，突袭，补给甚至是战术转变(Shift Tactics).整个“Advanced AI”系统将使得真实作战与活动变得非线性(Non-Linear)，让玩家感到自己的战友与对手都似如活生生的真实人物。
#在图形技术(graphics technology)部分，Crytek Studios将首次运用业界最尖端的置换贴图 (Displacement mapping) 技术，置换贴图是法线贴图(Normal Mapping)的完全进化版，将完全控制模型底层的法线光照发向，真实的计算模型受到全局光子映射，游戏整体材质细节将提升到一个前所未有的精细高度。
#架构改进，Crytek Studios还为CE2 engine加入了一个新的光子反弹系统(Photon Rebound System)，用于修正Global illumination带来的黑斑与条纹，进一步提高GI光照的整体质量。
同时，Crytek Studios的团队主管Jimmie Johnson否认了早期时候外传的家用游戏平台移植版本(version)，并表示家用游戏主机性能欠缺，无法胜任Crytek对游戏质量的苛刻要求。
